What are the eligibility requirements to take the Driver Safety Course for citation dismissal?

You must have:

Current Valid Texas Driver’s license

Current valid vehicle liability insurance that either is in your name, lists you as a named driver or lists the vehicle indicated on your citation.

Be a traffic violation


You do not qualify if:

You have a commercial driver’s license (CDL)

You completed a driver safety course less than 12 months from completion of your last class to the date you received this citation

The offense is for speeding, and the alleged speed is greater than 24 miles over the posted limit

The offense cannot occurred in a work zone with worker’s present

The offense was for passing a stopped school bus

The offense was for failing to stop and leave ID at an accident
